Show & Sale Dress Code
Shirts - short/long sleeved, collared, or button-down
- may only have the top button undone
- must be tucked into jeans or khaki pants
Inappropriate show attire will be grounds for disqualification from the show
Sale - All members will wear their club shirts and jeans/khaki
pants
Beaver County Dress Guidelines
Knowing what to wear at 4-H events is sometimes a
challenge. To help you select what to wear we now have a
guidelines for Pennsylvania 4-H dress Code at State, District,
Regional, and County 4-H events such 4-H club meetings,
picnics, dinners, banquets, field trips, 4-H shows, 4-H activities
during the fairs, etc. 4-H members not wearing appropriate
dress will be asked to change. Check with your 4-H leader for
4-H club events and with Cindie Searight, Ext. Agent, for
regional, district, state, and national 4-H events, about dress
categories that are appropriate for the event you are attending.
At All Times: No undergarments may be exposed or prone to
exposure. No midriff areas may be exposed or
prone to exposure. Pajamas, lounge wear, or
other sleep wear should not be worn in public
areas.
Casual: Jeans, khakis, t-shirts, walking shorts (finger tip length
or longer) are appropriate. This is what you would
wear to 4-H club meetings or picnics. Not appropriate
casual clothing: cut-offs; badly worn jeans; t-shirts
depicting drug, alcohol or sexually oriented slogans;
tube tops; tank tops with straps smaller than 2
inches; and strapless or backless shirts, & no
oversize, sagging pants.
Professional Casual: appropriate for 4-H club banquets,
dinners.
For guys - Slacks or khakis, polo shirts, collared shirts
(ties not required).
For ladies - Skirts (fingertip length or longer) or dress slacks
including khakis with blouse or sweater; or dresses
(at least fingertip length, not strapless or backless).
Dress-up: would be worn at events such as Capital Days
For Gentleman - Dress slacks with collared shirt and tie, jacket
or sweater (no jeans).
For Ladies - Dresses (at least fingertip length, not strapless or
backless), suits or pantsuits.
